We intend to produce an injection-mold design for an ergonomic tablet mount, enabling extended tablet use. While a patented design already exists, the improved design must be optimized to produce an economic injection mold. Widener will also design the solar-charging electronics for the tablet mount. Tech 2 Roll (T2R) intends to manufacture and market this table mount as a commercial product for users in manufacturing, construction, sanitation, and dining facilities. Our work will transcend an engineering prototype. We intend to develop an economic design that will meet the requirements of T2R and its customers: fully scalable, reproducible, and suitable for mass manufacture. The compact, ergonomic features of the current design are protected by US Patent 11,073,865 and will be incorporated into Widener’s new design. But the design will be revised with special attention to economy and size. A 3D printed version of the design will be tested at various manufacturing and dining facilities throughout Pennsylvania.
